Residential Tenancies Act (1987)

The Residential Tenancies Act (1987) is the state government law that protects tenants and landlords.  The Act outlines the rights and responsibilities of tenants and property owners/agents/landlords in Western Australia.  It covers many areas including: landlord and tenant obligations and dispute resolution, payment and refund of security bonds, inspection, rent and rental increases, repairs and maintenance, lease agreements and termination of agreements.
